PTE Practice

A PTE study plan you can actually follow

Two schedules, a 2-week sprint and a 30-day plan, built around timed practice, regular mock tests and fixing your weakest tasks first.

How the plans work

Both plans follow the same loop: test to find your weakest section, practise those tasks under real timing, review what cost you marks, then test again. Spending most of your time where your score is lowest moves the overall score fastest.

Learn each task's format first with the task guides, and use the speaking tips for a short daily speaking routine.

The 2-week plan

Day 1Full mock test. Note your lowest section and your two weakest task types.
Days 2–4Speaking: Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence and Describe Image daily under exam timing. Record and replay.
Days 5–6Writing: one Summarize Written Text and one Essay or Email a day. Check word counts.
Days 7–8Reading: the two fill-in-the-blanks tasks and Re-order Paragraphs. Review every wrong answer.
Days 9–10Listening: Write from Dictation, Fill in the Blanks and Summarize Spoken Text daily.
Day 11Sectional mock test in your weakest section.
Days 12–13Mixed practice on your two weakest task types only.
Day 14Light review, a short warm-up, early night.

The 30-day plan

Week 1Mock test on day 1. Learn every task format with the task guides. 30 minutes of speaking practice daily.
Week 2Section focus: Speaking and Writing. Timed practice every day; review the trait that cost you most.
Week 3Section focus: Reading and Listening. Build accuracy first, then speed. Sectional mock at the end of the week.
Week 4Full mock test on day 22. Drill your weakest tasks for six days. Final sectional mocks, then rest before the exam.

Every day, whichever plan

Do 15 minutes of speaking out loud, practise at least one task under exam timing, and spend a few minutes reviewing a mistake from the day before. Short and daily beats long and occasional.

FAQ

It depends on your current English level and your target score. Someone close to their target may need a focused two weeks; someone further away usually needs a month or more of daily practice.
