PTE Practice

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

This policy explains what we collect when you use PTE Practice (our website and our iOS and Android apps), why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies whether you use a guest session or a signed-in account.

What we collect

  • Your practice. The questions you attempt, your answers (recordings, typed and selected answers), and the scores and feedback we give you, so you can review them in your history.
  • Account details. If you sign in with Google or Apple, the name and email address they share with us (with Apple's Hide My Email, a relay address). Guest sessions have no name or email.
  • Study settings. Your target score, exam date, focus area, daily goal, timezone and reminder time.
  • Purchases. The plan you bought, the amount, and the transaction identifier from the payment provider. We never see or store your card details.
  • Ratings and feedback you choose to send us, and an email address only if you give one so we can reply.
  • Technical data. Basic usage and crash/error information that helps us keep the service working. It contains no recordings or answers.

How we use it

To score your answers and give you feedback, save your progress, sync your plan and history across your devices, send the reminders you ask for, process purchases, answer your messages, improve our scoring, and keep the service secure and working well. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.

Recordings and AI scoring

  • In our apps we ask your permission before any recording leaves your device. You can withdraw it at any time, and the rest of the app keeps working.
  • Your recordings are processed on our own systems. Your recording is never sent to any third party.
  • To score the content of spoken and written answers and write feedback, we use our AI Scoring Evaluator, a third-party AI service provider that processes data only on our instructions. It receives the text of your answer, scoring information derived from it, and the question. It does not receive your recording, name, email, account or device identifiers, or payment details.
  • The provider does not use this data to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring before deleting it.

Service providers we use

We share data only with providers that help us run the service, under contract, and only what each one needs:

  • Cloud hosting and storage providers, which run our servers and store data on our behalf.
  • AI Scoring Evaluator, a third-party AI service provider, as described above.
  • Google and Apple, for sign-in and for purchases made in their app stores.
  • Stripe, for payments made on our website.
  • Google Firebase (Analytics, Cloud Messaging and Crashlytics), for usage statistics on our website and Android app, practice reminders, and crash reports. Analytics is linked to a random identifier (and your account number if you sign in), never your name, email, recordings or answers. Our iOS app does not use Analytics.

How long we keep data

Your practice history stays available so you can track your progress. If you delete your account, we erase what identifies you (see below).

Your choices

  • Practise as a guest without creating an account.
  • Turn reminders off in the app, in your website profile, or in your device or browser settings.
  • Withdraw permission for recording uploads in the app.
  • Delete your account at any time.

Deleting your account

  • Website: Profile › Delete account.
  • Android app: More › Profile › Delete account.
  • iOS app: More › Profile › Delete my account.

If you no longer have the app, email us from the address you sign in with and we will delete it for you.

What is erased: your name and email, your sign-in, bookmarks, study settings, notifications and the feedback you sent us. This cannot be undone.

What is kept, without anything that identifies you: your practice history, mock test results and purchase records.

Plans: a plan bought on our website stops renewing when you delete your account. A plan bought in the App Store or Google Play must be cancelled there.
